The term “American Dream” has been thrown around so often in every context, that it has become almost a cliche without much meaning. I would like to share what I consider the American Dream to be, how it has created my financial philosophy and how it has lead to me writing Heads I Win, Tails You Lose.

Going all the way back to 1689, John Locke once wrote, “That being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his Life, Health, Liberty, or Property.” These familiar words came about in a time of social unrest in a time that led to the American Revolution and subsequently to the greatest period of ingenuity, industry and prosperity to that point.

While the United States has transformed the world since its inception, many would balk at the idea of the American Dream and its current definition.

The national debt is at an all-time high; well over $20 trillion. Consumer debt matches that amount. Half of our earned income goes to taxes when you factor in sales and property taxes, utilities and inflation. When it comes to achieving the dream of living comfortably, we are not taking the proper steps of educating ourselves and making that dream a possibility. In fact, 45% of the workforce has only $3,000 saved for retirement and less than 20% of the US workforce is confident they will be able to retire at all.

So, what can we do to reinvigorate the American Dream and build our own success with the minimum amount of government interference and external factors?

The answer is a key reason I chose to write my first book, “Heads I Win, Tails You Lose.” I believe, now more than ever, that it’s time to unite over what our dreams may be and how we can comfortably achieve them.

I believe there are a few key components to achieve this that are universal –

  1. Taking Control of your wealth
  2. Establishing passive income or cash flow investments
  3. Discovering a profession based on purpose, not necessity

We live in a world where that is already possible. I urge you to read the book and see how you can take advantage of these opportunities today!
